Art now sleep later vendor booth

I had my first official vendor booth in 2019 at Darkside in Riverside. Which was also the first time the folks at Comic Con Palm Springs held this event. The whole thing was a little clunky but I was too green to be bothered! True to my nature I saw this as an opportunity to DIY the crap out of my booth!

Below you’ll see slideshows of some of the projects I made to make it every bit a booth from my brain.

Toxic Sludge “Rad Stickers” Barrel Display

I had this idea to make a display for my stickers on a spinner. So I got concrete pouring tube, some pipe insulators for the rims, strong adhesive and the bottom of a lazy Susan laying around in the garage my wife said I could take apart. A trick I used for the font was I printed the text to scale and traced it on to frisket sheets. To get that tight stencil lettering. This was a lot of fun airbrushing, especially the oozing slime. It’s pretty sturdy but has a slight wobble. And the pipe insulators don’t take paint well because they are foam. Other than that, SUCCESS!

War Baby Button Display

I really winged it on this one. Besides the buttons the whole thing is found objects from the garage. An old picture frame I painted, a piece of scrap wood wrapped in an old kids tshirt for the the backing. An old doll of my daughters for the War Baby head. Last an old monitor stand gutted and attached to the frame backing. It came out pretty rough, but it was a fun project:) I learned from it.

zombro mannequin

I had this mannequin from when I was trying to make my own tshirt company called Odd Ninja. I had the idea it would be fun to make it in to Zombro so people could take pictures with him.

Signs & branding

Below are signage I made for the booth. The Tiger Striped counter/storage with sexy bamboo trim was made by a friend for his wife’s booths. She no longer used it and I fell in love with it so they let me buy it off of them. So hot!

Then there’s the Zombro biz card holder. That’s just a marker drawing I did using packaging tape to laminate, andsome of my endless supply of caution stripe tape. The last three are price sheets I had up, each one a character from Zombro’s universe. War Baby, Atomic Pope and Odd Ninja.
