So far I’ve participated in two shows with the Artist Lodge. They are a fantastic local group in Orange County that do a lot of fan centric shows. The shows are very accessible and affordable for anyone to buy or sell art.
My first show I worked on was a Studio Ghibli Tribute show. I chose some iconic moments from “Spirited Away” for my inspiration. These are painted on 3x5” cards, and I painted on the mat surrounding it to add a nice dimensionality.
They are all watercolor, ink and a pinch of acrylic.
My second show was a tribute to Disney’s Haunted Mansion rides. For this one I went digital, and thought it would be fun to make the Hatbox Ghost have an Instagram account he posts selfies to. The post text is based on lyrics from the song played on the ride.
