Mattias Adolfsson Art Class

This is some of the collected work from an online art class I took with Mattias Adolfsson.

He is an amazing and whimsical illustrator with his own voice. Check out his work with the button below!

At the beginning of the class we were asked to do freehand drawings of the art tools we like to use, then draw items from memory. Afterwards we were to invent wild new writing and drawing supplies, then pick a favorite and make an advertisement for it. The sky was the limit

Next we were to find objects around our homes and turn them in to characters. Followed by pushing the character designs in to something that would be fun as an animated character.

After loosening up on anthropomorphizing household objects we had to create a cartoon version of ourselves. Mine I simply call “Dad”. After the character was developed we needed to make a simple comic, since this class happened right after my 42nd birthday I made a comic about eating my feelings.

Below are pages of developing and deconstructing my character “Dad”.

Another assignment was to create an illustration of a character with tattoos that related to who they were or what they did.

I call this one “Flour Power”.
